The KICKS Public Art Event, brought to you by Ridgefield Running Company is an event where local citizens and businesses can purchase fiberglass resin sneaker sculptures to decorate in any and every way possible to be displayed all over Ridgefield, CT.
Starting June 15th, 2024 and lasting until Mid September, Artful Visual Arts Initiative placed Sneaker Sculptures around the Town of Ridgefield, CT.
The Sculptures were sponsored by local businesses and then commissioned to various artists to create a unique sculpture. Once placed around town, the community enjoyed a summer of fun finding and posting about their favorite sneaker sculptures.
On September 6th – 8th the “Run Around Town” Scavenger Hunt took place along with the first ever Fitness Expo on September 7th sponsored by Fairfield County Bank. Both provided a fun time for all who participated!
Finally, on Tuesday, September 24th, 2024 from 6-9 pm, the “Just For KICKS Auction” event was held with silent auction for the KICKS Sneaker Sculptures along with other auction items.
Over 100 people came out to enjoy all the sculptures presented in one location!
All the proceeds from the event went to support these two wonderful organizations.
ArtFul Promotes Ridgefield’s Arts and Cultural Community and
promotes local artists helping them with Grants and Scholarships to pursue their art career.
The Bow WOW Art Dog Event raised $90,000.00 and the event was able to
donate back to ROAR and The Ridgefield Guild of Artists $10,000.00 each.
We are still running the auction event until the end of October since there are a
few sneaker sculptures we hope to find a home. Results will be posted soon!
