Application requirements include a resume of your artistic or art historical background (including courses taken and involvement in arts organizations), other academic activities, and responses to the included Artist Statement questions.

All Applicants will be required to submit a digital portfolio of their work. If your interest is in art history or museum studies, we ask that you submit an essay in lieu of the portfolio. In your essay theme, “Why are you applying for this program and what sets you apart?”

The initial screening by the Application Review Committee will be based on your program application, Artist Statement responses, and a digital portfolio/essay.

Please complete the ArtFul Resident Artist Program Online Application, including the Artists Statement questions, one letter of recommendation from a teacher, professor, or professional colleague as well as a detailed description of how the funds will be used with line-by-line budgeted costs.

This program recognized your potential participation in studio and applied arts.

Upon completion of the program, you will be required to show proof of new works created through the program.

Send all Portfolio / Resume files – please read carefully

Submit your portfolio of up to 10 pieces of your best pieces. Your portfolio can be uploaded as a zip file with your online application or you can provide a URL to an online portfolio. If for any reason you are not able to provide your portfolio by either of these two methods, a CD/flash drive that is clearly labeled with your name can be mailed separately to be added to your application.

Photographs of works should be labeled with your name, the piece number (1-10 in your digital portfolio), dimensions, medium, and title. Submit digital images or video files demonstrating the applicant’s visual artwork. Each image or video should be of high quality and clearly depict the artwork. Crop out unnecessary frames and make sure the camera is at the same angle as the artwork to eliminate awkward angles and perspectives in images. Enter the title, year created, description of concept behind the piece and any other relevant context for each item submitted.

Note: Digital portfolio samples will not be returned.
